Alex Todd

ROCKFORD - Alexander Donald Todd, age 24, of Rockford departed this life unexpectedly on Tuesday October 17, 2023. Alex was born on November 2, 1998 to Dennis 'Pete' and Andrea (Tack) Todd. He grew up in Rockford and graduated from Rockford Lutheran High School in 2017. He moved to Fort Collins, CO for 2 years, returning to Rockford in 2021. Alex was employed at UPS and was recently promoted to a supervisory position. Alex enjoyed sports, both as a competitor and as a spectator. He was passionate about movies, music, gaming with friends, his dogs Henry & Lu and spending time with family and friends. Alex was a truly kind and gentle soul with a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. He was bright, creative, loyal, thoughtful, empathetic, non-judgmental and always tried to see the good in everyone. Words cannot express how much Alex was loved, how much joy he brought into our lives, or how much he will be missed by his parents, sister and those who knew and loved him. We are so grateful to have had our precious boy in our life. We will cherish Alex forever.

Alex is survived by his parents; sister, Samantha; aunts and uncles, Donna (Mark) Johnson, Darcy (Chris) Oltmanns and Deanna (Kenny) Nelson; numerous cousins; including special cousin and friend, Russell Oltmanns; and his best friend, Nick Caravello and the entire Caravello family who treated Alex as one of their own. Alex is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Don & Jan Tack; paternal grandparents, Jack & Phyllis Todd; uncle, Bart Tack; aunt, Debbie Kearby; cousins, Amari Hodges and Lisa Kearby; and his beloved dog, Bo.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday October 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at Alpine Lutheran Church, 5001 Forest View Ave, Rockford, with visitation from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice in memory of Alex. Memorials may also be made to the family for a donation that will be made to a charity in Alex's memory.
