Alice May Statkey

ROCKFORD – Alice "Allo" May Statkey, age 95, of Rockford passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday January 28, 2019. Born in Rockford on August 24, 1923 to Evar C. & Helen F. Johnson (Salivar). Alice married Arthur A. Statkey on February 13, 1943 in Rockford. She was a lifelong resident of Rockford, and worked for 18 years at Martin Gustafson's Gift Shop on 7 ^th Street. An avid golfer and member of Par-Tee Golf Club at Sandy Hollow Golf Course, she won several Rockford City Championships. Alice enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, but was particularly fond of the Chicago Bulls and golf. She loved aerobics, finding a good deal at resale shops, traveling and her many adventures to Europe. Beloved aunt to all; she will be dearly missed and remain in our hearts forever.

She is survived by nieces, Cathy (Gary) Magnuson & Sheila (Robert) Yount; nephews, Craig (Barbra) Swenson & Randy Swenson; great-nephews, Dustin (Amy) Campbell, Shawn Campbell & Breck (Renee Vervinck) Campbell; great-nieces, Kara Swenson, Melissa (Vin) Swenson, Lindsay (Samuel) Saladino, Katie (fiance Anthony Borgmann) Magnuson & Alexandria (Cole) Bishop; along with several great-great nieces & nephews and great-great-great niece & nephew. She is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Arthur "Artie" Statkey; sister, Evelyn Johnson; and her parents.
