Anthony "Tony" J. Gonzales Sr.

ROCKFORD – Anthony "Tony" James Gonzales Sr., age 32, of Rockford passed away peacefully on Friday December 15, 2017. Born in Rockford on August 10, 1985 to Pete & Della G. Gonzales (Croom). He worked for many years as a cook at My Place Bar & Grill and Don Carter Lanes, where he met his wife 16 years ago. He graduated from Auburn High School in 2003 at the top of his class. Beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and dear friend; he will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Spring Daisy Gonzales; sons, Anthony Jr. "AJ" & Carter; parents, Pete & Della Gonzales; siblings, Lisa (Ryan) Powell, Jesse Gonzales, Amanda Gonzales; grandparents, Delbert (Donna) Croom; mother-in-law; Karen (Claude Hartsfield Jr.) Welch; father-in-law, Doug (Linda) Olmstead; sister-in-law, Brandy (Cory) Hendricks; brother-in-law, Dustin "Dusty" Olmstead; and several nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his beloved dog, Petey.


Celebration of Life Memorial to be held on Thursday December 21, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Avenue, Rockford, IL, with visitation from 1:00 pm until the time of services at 3:00 pm.
