Anthony Lynn Overturf

MACHESNEY PARK- Anthony "Tony" Lynn Overturf, age 52, of Machesney Park passed away Thursday October 11, 2018. Born in Rockford on March 24, 1966 to Ivan & Sharon Overturf (Lance). Graduate of Harlem High School, Tony was an avid Chicago Bears fan and math wiz. He enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking, fishing and landscaping. He worked in manufacturing at Woodward Governor and held the chess team championship, as well as Barber-Colman Company receiving six Sigma Awards. Tony married Melinda Ingram and made his legacy having two sons. Ethan was his favorite, but Evan he liked more. He inherited his predecessor & grandmother, Mary Malloys entrepreneurial spirit and became part business owner at the age of 21 with his father Ivan.  He went on to live his American dream becoming a business owner & landlord. Beloved father, son, husband & uncle, he will remain in our hearts forever.


He is survived by his sons, Evan & Ethan Overturf; father, Ivan Overturf; grandmother, Dee Lance; mother of his children, Melinda Overturf; sister, Jodi (Ed) Mann; nephews, James & Avery Johnson; niece, Hollie Johnson; uncles, Doug and Kelly Malloy. He is predeceased by his mother, Sharon Overturf.


Private family cremains scattering service to be held. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials to the family.
