Anthony Gene Sturdivant

ROCKFORD- Anthony Gene "Black Ant" Sturdivant, age 39, of Rockford, Il. Departed his life on June 8, 2017, in his home after a short illness. Anthony was born to Daisy Sturdivant and Gene Valentine on August 12, 1977 in Rockford. He attended Rockford public school, later received his G.E.D. He was employed by Servicom as a supervisor, and he was also a caregiver for his brother Jimmy for many years.

Anthony leaves to cherish, his mother, Daisy and father Gene; 4 daughters, Princess, Na'Chelyn, Serenity Sturdivant of Rockford and Aniyah Sturdivant of South Carolina; son, Anthony Sturdivant-Holmetz of Rockford; 6 sisters, Marquita Hall of Chicago, Il., Timeaka Sturdivant, Lisa, Stephanie, Lorissa Valentine of Rockford, Josie Mitchell of Wisconsin; 3 brothers, Jimmy Sturdivant, Dontay Sturdivant of Rockford, Shaun Hall of Springfield, Wife of 6 years Annmarie Bardouille-Sturdivant, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by paternal grandparents and brother Mack C. Simmons Jr.

Funeral services to be held on Saturday June 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3 ^rd Avenue, with visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson funeral home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials to the family.
