Anthony Gerald Williams

ROCKFORD- Anthony Gerald Williams, age 56, of Rockford and formerly of Syracuse, NY passed away Monday August 24, 2020. Born in Syracuse, NY on February 2, 1964 to Phillip Williams & Priscilla Mattison. Anthony worked for 26 years at Chrysler. An avid sports fan, Anthony played both high school basketball at George Fowler High School and college football at SUNY Cortland. He had a passion for cooking and loved to barbecue outdoors with friends and family. Beloved husband, father, brother and dear friend; he will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his wife, Olga Williams (Ruiz); children, Jakwon and Shaniya Williams; father, Phillip (Daisy) Williams; mother, Priscilla (late Otto) Love; stepchildren, Enrique Thomas Nieves, Logan Ruiz Jones and Yelitza Symone Hunter; sisters, Megan Billings & Annette (Tyrone) Brown; nephews, Ryan, Connor, Rayden and Casper; great nephews, Isaiah and Noah; as well as numerous beloved friends. He is predeceased by brother, Almedia Williams.

Celebration of Life Memorial and Inurnment held in Syracuse, NY to be announced. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
