Barrett Anthony Hurston

ROCKFORD – Barrett Anthony Hurston, age 43, of Rockford and formerly of Chicago passed away Tuesday June 18, 2019. Born in Chicago on June 24, 1975 to Robert Anthony Hurston and Sandra Denise Smith. A die-hard Chicago Bears fan, Barrett loved music, cooking and spending time with his sons. Beloved father, husband, son, brother and dear friend; he will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie N. Hurston (Paulson); sons, Casey & Jayden Hurston; mother, Sandra (James) Smith-Myrick; siblings, Erica Hurston, Holly Hurston and Cornell (Tiasha) Finley; stepmother, Liane Hurston; aunts & uncles, Deedra (Dale Bennett) Johnson, Christi Smith, Vickie Hurston, Michael Hurston, Nectra (Lesley) Dukes, Mary Bailey, Carlton Hairston and James Bailey; dear friend, Laura Tindle-Turner; numerous nieces & nephews, cousins and many beloved friends. He is predeceased by his father, Robert Anthony Hurston; grandmothers, Sarah Bailey and Elizabeth Ann Smith.

Celebration of Life Memorial held Tuesday June 25, 2019 at 6:00 PM at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Avenue, Rockford, with visitation from 4:00 PM until the time of services at 6:00 PM. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the family.
