ROCKFORD – Benjamin Joseph Rampenthal, age 49, of Rockford passed away peacefully after a sudden illness on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Born in Rockford on November 16, 1975, to Bradley Joseph Rampenthal & Paula Kay Mac Adam. Ben worked several Years at Clark gas stations, he was a gentle, caring and kind spirit, faithful and devoted Christian, Ben always found the good in people, and always had kind and encouraging words to say, He loved writing, listening, and playing music, a natural talent on numerous instruments. He truly loved jamming with bandmates and friends. Beloved Father, Son, Brother, Grandson, Uncle, Great Uncle, and a Dear Friend; Ben will remain Forever in Our Hearts.
He is survived by Son, Michael Rampenthal; Mother, Paula (late Gary) Hanson; Father, Brad (Barb) Rampenthal; Siblings, Jeff Rampenthal, Tim Rampenthal (Heather Moon), Jaiden C. Rampenthal, Duffy McGraw, Ed (Fawn) McGraw, Amber Vicencio, Monica (Jorge) Bautista and Tiffany Hahn; Aunts & Uncles; Wendy (Gary) Gray, Jeffrey Mac Adam, Trudy Clark, Pam Hodge, Kay (Tim) Elliott and Jeanne (Gary) Walton; numerous nieces & nephews; dear friend, Pete Aelio; band mates, Brian Williams, Phil Dunnegan and Blues Transit; and beloved cat, Tom. He is predeceased by his Sister, Pam Rampenthal; Paternal Grandparents Keith & Theresa Rampenthal; Maternal Grandparents Gregg Mac Adam & Mae Jacobson; & Uncle Doug Rampenthal.
Celebration of Life Memorial to be announced. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
