Betty Margaret Ellison

ROCKFORD – Betty Margaret Ellison, age 91, lifelong resident of Rockford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday September 26, 2018. Born in Rockford on April 4, 1927 to Charles & Sebelia Cook (Garrison). A 1945 graduate of West High School, she attended St. Anthony Hospital College of Nursing. She loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events; as well as gardening, sewing, crocheting, bowling and puzzle making. Betty was a proud member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Rockford. Beloved mother, grandmother and dear friend, she will remain in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan (late Douglas) Bergstrom and Doreen (Larry) Johnson; grandchildren, Eric (Brittney) Bergstrom, Kristin Bergstrom, Carl (Krista) Bergstrom, Margaret (Jason) Collis and Alex Johnson; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Marvin; daughter, Carol Sue Ellison; son, Charles August Ellison; 3 brothers and a sister.

Funeral Services held Monday October 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3 ^rd Avenue, with visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Interment at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials to the family.
