Bondena M. Phillips

ROCKFORD – Bondena M. Phillips, age 53, of Rockford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Sunday February 26, 2023. Born in Rockford on April 18, 1969 to Merietta LaVone Schelm (Moore). A true foodie, Bondena loved cooking, creating and trying new & exotic recipes for friends & family. She loved watching her daytime TV Shows, puzzles and playing her favorite phone games. The best grandma; she never missed a chance to spoil her grandchildren, her true pride & joy. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend; she will remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her children, Camesha (Marquis) Gamble, Deandre (Givonna) Phillips, Karleshia (Donell) Phillips, Milton (Tristan) Phillips Jr.; numerous grandchildren; sisters, Crystal Schelm, Kathleen Schelm and Wendy Ackerson; as well as numerous nieces & nephews; and a host of dear friends & family. She is predeceased by her husband, Milton Van Phillips Sr.; mother, Merietta LaVone Schelm; and beloved dog, Sarge.

Funeral Services held Saturday March 4, 2023, at 4:00 pm at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3 ^rd Ave. , Rockford, IL, with visitation from 2:00 PM until the time of service at 4:00 PM . Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the family.
