Brenda Davidson

ROCKFORD – Brenda Davidson, age 82, of Rockford passed away peacefully Sunday August 6, 2023. Born in Chicago on April 30, 1941 to the union of Leslie Stewart Sr. & Elsie Jamison. After the death of her mother, Brenda and her two sisters were raised by loving foster parents, Garrett & Ora Morgan. She attended Gillespie Grammar School and Calumet High School. She met and married Deronto Davidson on April 11, 1958 and to this union had 9 children; Shirley, Sylvia, Sharon, Tyrone, Oralee, Deronto Jr., Vanessa, Darryl and Vickey. Brenda enjoyed a host of activities including skating & fishing and attended Lilydale Baptist Church. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend; she will remain forever in our hearts.

She leaves to cherish her memory 8 children, Shirley (Tommie) Davidson Craft, Sylvia Davidson, Sharon Davidson, Tyrone (Kathy) Davidson, Oralee Davidson, Deronto (Martha) Davidson, Vanessa (David) Davidson Carmona and Vickey (Jeff) Davidson Garcia; a host of grandchildren & great grandchildren; and special friends, Nadine Boyd and Aileen Davis. She is predeceased by son, Darryl Davidson; and siblings, Larry Stewart, Leslie Stewart, Helena Bowen, Marion Stewart and Margie Young.

Funeral Services held Monday August 14, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave., Rockford, with visitation from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 2:00 pm. Interment held Tuesday August 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Burr Oak Cemetery, Alsip, IL. Memorials to the Family.
