Brian M. Harrington

ROCKFORD - Brian "DJ Groove" Harrington, age 57, also known as the Groove Master departed this earthly life on Tuesday March 28, 2023. He was born August 16, 1965 in Rockford, IL the son of Eva Mae Harrington & Freddy Ross.

A graduate of West High School in Rockford. DJ Groove was known for his classic house parties and being the best mix master. He also created his own radio station WLUV. Groove was a phenomenal dancer, skater and overall entertainer. When DJ Groove was on the ones and two's you knew you were at the place to be. Brian "DJ Groove Harrington was best known for his world-famous Groove Master Mix-tapes.

Brian leaves to cherish his loving memories, including his three children; sons, Brandon Gordon and Brian Harrington Jr; daughter, Brianna Harrington; grandchildren, Meshach Gordon, Bryson Gordon, Elijah Champ and Zuri Woods; brothers, Michael Harrington, Fred Ross, Charles Ross and Brady Ross; sisters, Chris Johnson, Shauna Ross (McNamara), Audrey Ross and Consuelo Allen; nieces, Shanosha Harrington, Shi'Nisha Wilson-Harrington and Shybria Brown.

He is predeceased by his father, Freddy Ross; mother, Eva Mae Harrington; brother, James M. Harrington; sister, Ann Ross; and niece, Shadí Harrington.

Celebration of Life Memorial to be announced. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
