Carl Anthony Gambino

ROCKFORD – Carl Anthony Gambino, age 81, of Rockford passed away peacefully on Saturday March 31, 2018. Born in Rockford on July 1, 1936 to Henry & Mary I. Gambino (DiGiovanni). He retired after 36 years of service from JL Clark. A people person with a warm heart, Carl loved listening to music and enjoyed playing trumpet with numerous bands. Beloved husband, brother, uncle and dear friend; he will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Susan Gambino (Schwartzlow); siblings, Doris (Joe) LaMarca and Henry (Connie) LaMarca; nephew, George LaMarca; great niece & nephew, Joey & Julia LaMarca; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dianne (Clyde) Feltz, Sandy (Don) Bounds, Carol (Ed) Boothe, MaryAnn (Paul) Feltz, Joanne (late Tommy) Mellgren and Bruce (Cherie) Schwartzlow; numerous nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews; and many dear friends. He is predeceased by his parents; and brothers-in-law, Scott, Mike, Mark, Gary and Danny.

Funeral Services held on Wednesday April 4, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Avenue, Rockford, IL, with visitation from 12:00 pm until the time of services at 1:00 pm. Entombment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials to the family.
