ROCKFORD – Cathy Mauerman, age 56, of Rockford passed away Thursday, October 15, 2026. Born in Rockford on December 6, 1969 to Edward Paul & Nancy Mauerman Sr. (Rockwell). Outspoken, spirited, and never afraid to say what was on her mind, Cathy loved animals, shopping and binge watching her favorite TV shows. She always rooted for the Cubs, enjoyed attending live concerts and took delight in the small things like long car rides. Beloved soulmate, mother, sister and dear friend; she will remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her best friend and significant other of over 30 years, Dewayne Smith; son, Devin Mauerman; siblings, Edward Mauerman Jr. and Diana Mauerman; niece, Tylina; great nieces and nephews, Jayden, Alexis, Iziah and Gianna; beloved cats, Nakoa, Cody, Theodore, Freyja, Loki, Fiona & Lucy and dogs, Gracie & Tucker. She is predeceased by her sister, Sheila Mauerman; nephew, Cody Mauerman; her parents; and beloved dogs, Oscar, Bella Rose & Trooper.
