Dallas Alexander Lewis

ROCKFORD – Dallas Alexander Lewis, age 42, of Rockford passed away Friday January 14, 2022. Born in Chicago on September 3, 1979 and raised in Rockford, son of Otis & Gwendolyn Lewis Jr. (Edwards). Caring, helpful and kind, Dallas always had a smile on his face and looked out for everyone. A creative & talented artist and cake decorator, he owned and operated Cakes by Dallas and was loved by many in the Rockford area. He enjoyed playing games on his X-box, but his true pride & joy was his son, Xavier. Proud father, beloved son, cherished brother and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his son, Xavier Alexander Lewis; mother, Gwendolyn Lewis; brother, Ramses (Kiona) McCreary, Nehemiah (LaShonda) McCreary, Joshua (Elizabeth) Edwards and Ezekiel Edwards; and mother of his child, Rita Sims. He is predeceased by his father, Otis Lewis Jr.; and his grandparents.

Celebration of Life Memorial held Saturday February 12, 2022 at 12:00 noon at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Avenue, Rockford, with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the family.
