Dan Guinn Jr.

LOVES PARK – Daniel "Dan" Robert Guinn Jr., age 50, of Loves Park passed away peacefully Saturday August 29, 2020 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Rockford on May 2, 1970 to Daniel R. Guinn Sr. and Barbara (Ellis) Anderson. He attended West High School. Dan enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Heather and granddaughter, Brynlee; but most of all loved camping and traveling with his soulmate, Kai. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his wife, Kai Johnson; daughter, Heather Derrickson; stepchildren, Celest (Vince) Paul, Austin DelaRosa, Chris Derrickson and Matt Derrickson; granddaughter, Brynlee; step grandchildren, Emma, Tony & Alayna Paul; mother, Barb Anderson; brother, Matthew (Kristi) Guinn; sister, April (Rick) Spaulding; nieces & nephews, Matti, Keegan, Tyler, Arya, Shea, Cooper, Cora and Zira; and beloved dog, Basha. He is predeceased by his father, Daniel Robert Guinn Sr.; grandparents, James (Mildred) Guinn and Laurence (Charlotte) Ellis; uncle, James "Jimmy" (Sara) Guinn; and many dear friends.

Celebration of Life Memorial held Friday September 18, 2020 at 6:00 PM at Rocky's, 5314 N 2nd St., Loves Park, IL 61111. Cremation rites accorded. Inurnment at Willwood Burial Park, Rockford. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials to the family.
