ROCKFORD – Daniel Robert Vestal, age 68, of Rockford passed away peacefully surrounded by family & friends after a courageous and private battle on Wednesday August 29, 2018. Born in Rockford on June 23, 1950 to Robert E. & Olga L. Vestal (Verni). A man of many talents & hobbies, beloved husband, father, grandfather and dear friend; he will remain in our hearts forever.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cheryl L. Vestal (Sanders); children, Nathan (Ria Westergaard) Vestal & Tina Manning (Vestal); grandchildren, Justin & Aurelia; numerous cousins, extended family and dear friends; and beloved dog, Huckleberry. He is predeceased by his parents; brother, Albert Vestal; and numerous aunts & uncles.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life memorial on Sunday September 9, 2018 starting at 12:00 noon at the family's home. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials to: Swedish American Foundation for Cancer Programs (https://www.swedishamerican.org/about-us/foundation) or to the family.
