Dawn Renee Corder

MACHESNEY PARK – Dawn Renee Corder, age 61, of Machesney Park and formerly of Rockford passed away Tuesday July 20, 2021. Born in Rockford on January 4, 1960 to Joseph & Rose Richter (Mickelson). Dawn enjoyed collecting, selling & buying antiques and tended the perfect garden for canning in the fall. She could play Backgammon for hours, but also content in putting her mind to work with Sudoku puzzles, her favorite phone games and a little crocheting. Above all she truly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend; she will remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her children, Gary Perkins, Dana Perkins, Emily Burdick and Audrey Corder; grandchildren, Daniel, Madyson, Amelia, Dewan, Brooklyn, Annabelle, Elaina, Kinsley and Domnick; siblings, David Richter, Robert (Deb) Richter, Brian (Deb) Richter, Carol (late Ron) Lutovsky, Diane (late George) Lutovsky and Sonya (Michael) Terronez; sisters-in-law, Merrilyn Johnson and Sue Richter; and numerous nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Wayne Corder; brothers, Larry, Ron, Arvid & Greg Richter; and her parents.

Celebration of Life Memorial held Monday July 26, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the Elida Lodge, 1115 5th Ave, Rockford. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
