Deborah Mae Bragg
06/30/1951 - 01/20/2024
LOVES PARK - With profound sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of our cherished Deborah Mae Bragg on January 20th, 2024. She departed this world surrounded by her loved ones, serenaded by the melodies of her favorite music.
Deborah graced the world on June 30th, 1951, born to Pearl Church (Redman) and Herbert Church. Her childhood unfolded in the Prairie du Chien and Rockford area alongside 2 sisters and a brother. A delightful chapter in her memories was the time her parents owned a diner. She recounted coming home from school and waiting for her mom to close the diner while she enjoyed some of the pie that wasn't sold that day.
She attended Auburn High School. For her career, she briefly navigated the streets as a taxi driver before embarking on a fulfilling career as a real estate agent. Deborah was an adventurer at heart, fearlessly embracing new challenges not only in her professional journey but also in life. She learned to fly a plane and revealed the joy of travel. One of her adventures was a trip to China with her daughter Sarah Wu, an experience she shared with those around her. She enjoyed smaller trips as well, fondly remembering trips to the House on The Rock, Galena, and Prairie du Chien with her family.
In moments of leisure, Deborah found joy in various pursuits. She explored her artistic side by painting portraits, indulged in arts and crafts, with a particular passion for home decorating and gardening. Each passing year witnessed her home transforming to mirror her evolving styles and interests. Additionally, she found pleasure in dealing with antiques and, in her later years, discovered a love for baking an array of breads and desserts for her family.
Outside her professional and adventurous pursuits, Deborah filled her home with life, love, art, and music. She played the piano beautifully, creating an atmosphere that resonated with warmth and creativity. This legacy of music and art will live on, a testament to the vibrant spirit she brought to her home.
Deborah was a loving sister to her late siblings, Martin Church, Nancy Smith, and Sallie Stewart. She played the roles of a nurturing mother to her son, Lewis Aaron Bragg II; daughter, Candra Bragg; and step-daughter, Sarah Wu; and devoted wife to Lewis Bragg I. Her memory lives on through her surviving children and husband.
During this challenging time, the outpouring of love and support from family and friends is deeply appreciated. Deborah Mae Bragg will be profoundly missed, her memory forever etched in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known and loved her.
