Dennis Michael Lockrey

ROCKFORD- Dennis Michael Lockrey, age 66, of Rockford and formerly of South Holland, IL passed away Thursday February 9, 2017. Born in Evergreen Park, IL on September 7, 1950 to John Gerald & Patricia Jane Lockrey (Hirschman). He served his country in the US Army during Vietnam. He was extremely active participating in 5K races with his nieces & nephews. Dennis was an avid Cubs fan and truly loved watching them win the World Series. He loved taking vacations, traveling and going to Cubs games. Beloved brother, uncle and dear friend, he will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by siblings, John (Lynne) Lockrey, Patricia (John) Giaimo, Jeanne Lockrey, Kathryn Consorti, Eileen (Tom) Ramstrom and Peggy Lockrey; nieces & nephews, John (Rachel) Krass, Tricia (Kevin) Cairo, John Giaimo, Erin (Jesse) Bartuzik, Robert Consorti, Jim (Emily) Consorti, Tom (Jen) Ramstrom, Justin (Natalie) Ramstrom, Rusty (Shaun Martz) Ramstrom, and Mollie (Sean) Hall; aunts, Dorothy Lockrey and Pam Hirschman; numerous cousins; dear friends, Matt Conway and Marc Muchowicz; and numerous great-nieces & great-nephews. He is predeceased by parents and niece, Jennifer Lockrey.

Committal services to be held on Friday February 24, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd, Elmwood, IL . Special music by Brendan Loughrey, a distant cousin from Ireland. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials to the family.
