Dennis Bruce Norman

ROCKFORD – Dennis Bruce Norman, age 66, of Rockford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Friday August 24, 2018. Born in Rockford on September 21, 1951 to Elwood Everett & Helen Dorothy Norman (Feltz). Dennis loved reading and music. He had an extensive book collection from which he bought, sold and traded at antique and collectibles shows. He enjoyed live music, both in concert and played throughout his home. A skilled woodworker and furniture maker, his pieces have been sold all over the country. Dennis enjoyed fishing, which he didn't get to do enough. An excellent cook and baker; he and his wife, Nancy catered many Wednesday Night Suppers at their church Broadway Covenant, banquets and events for family and friends. They enjoyed numerous vacations and travels. Thursday afternoons were dedicated to Pinochle with the Norman brothers. Beloved husband, brother, uncle and dear friend, he will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Nancy L. Norman (Hoffman); brothers, Roger (Connie), David (late Linda), Brian (Barb) all of Rockford and Michael (Linda) of Leaf River, IL; sister, Irma (Dale) Duhamell of Pocatello, ID; numerous nieces & nephews; and many dear friends. He is predeceased by his parents; grandparents; brothers, Everett, John and Richard Norman; and sisters, Dianna Norman and Irene Toth.

A Celebration of Life Memorial held on Saturday September 1, 2018 at 11:00 am at Broadway Covenant Church, 3525 Broadway, with visitation from 9:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am. Private interment at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials to Broadway Covenant Church and Mercy Health at Home Hospice.
