Deonel Lauretta Hardy

ROCKFORD – Deonel Lauretta Hardy, age 62, of Rockford passed away peacefully surrounded by family Saturday, March 8, 2025. Born in Rockford on March 6, 1963 to Gerhard & Carol Ann Mesdag (Rice). Deonel worked as a CNA for over 40 years in the Rockford area. She enjoyed watching cooking shows on the Food Network, and most of all loved and adored her grandchildren; spoiling them any chance she could, her true pride and joy. Beloved mother, grandmother, twin sister and dear friend; she will remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by daughters, Ashley (Richard Eskilson) Hardy and Lisa (Josh Yarbro) Hardy; grandchildren, Christian & Elijah Hardt and Raymond Yarbro; twin brother, Kurt (Margaret) Mesdag; numerous nieces & nephews; and many dear friends. She is predeceased by her brother, Mark J. Mesdag; parents, Gerhard & Carol Ann Mesdag (Rice); and father of her daughters, Michael Hardy.

Services are Private. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the family.
