Dick Hedrick

ROCKFORD – Richard Phillip "Dick" Hedrick, age 82, of Rockford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Wednesday July 14, 2021. Born in Rockford on December 5, 1938 to Clifford Theodore & Neita Elizabeth Hedrick (Altenburn). A Veteran of the US Air Force and life long aviation enthusiast, Dick enjoyed flying remote control and model planes. He retired after 50 years as a letter carrier with the US Postal Service. In his spare time he loved shooting pool with the Postal Pool League, woodworking and working outside in his yard. Beloved father, grandfather, brother and dear friend, he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by children, Dawn (Dennis) Fermanich, Dale Hedrick and Richard "Rick" Hedrick; step-grandchildren, Nancy King, TJ Kolff, brad Millerand Brandon Kliven; step-great grandchildren, Emily, Mikey and BreOnna; brother-in-law, Terry Kjenner; sister-in-law, Sherry Hedrick; numerous nieces & nephews; and beloved pets, Eli the dog and Precious the cat. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Antoinette "Jean" Hedrick; brother, Raymond Hedrick; sister, Sharon Kjenner; brother-in-law, Paul Hayes; and his parents.

Celebration of Life Memorial held Wednesday July 21, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave., with visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 12:00 noon. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Rockford Rescue Mission.
