Donna Lea Larsen

ROCKFORD – Donna Lea Larsen, age 87, of Rockford passed away peacefully at home Sunday January 16, 2022. Born at the family home in Rockford November 2, 1934 to Jack & Alice Tarro (Johnson). A proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary Carlson Post 1207, 8/40 Auxiliary and Winnebago/Boone County Auxiliary. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Larsen in Rockford on February 11, 1955. An avid bowler, Donna loved crocheting, knitting, sewing and cooking; she was known for the best homemade tortellini & bread and her delicious desserts. She most of all loved times spent with her family and beloved dogs. Dearest mother, grandmother, sister and friend; she will remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her daughters, Sue Magnuson, Diane (Joe) Palmeno and Jill (Dan) Thorn; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother Robert (Carolyn) Tarro; numerous nieces & nephews; dear friends, John (Peggy) Powers, Keith (Stephanie Powers) Taylor. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Kenneth Larsen; son, Tim Larsen; brother, Bill Tarro; and her parents.

Celebration of Life Memorial held Saturday April 2, 2022 from 12:00 noon - 4:00 pm at the American Legion Post #1207, 1011 S. Alpine Rd. Rockford. Graveside Service held Thursday January 20, 2022 at 12:00 noon at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery, 6202 Charles St., Rockford. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
