Dorothea M. Evans

ROCKFORD – Dorothea M. Evans, age 88, of Rockford passed away peacefully Wednesday August 21, 2024. Born in Rockford on December 7, 1935 to Frank Lawrence & Mary May Raia (Greco). Traditional in every way, Dorothea loved entertaining family gatherings and holidays. She enjoyed cooking and baking Italian cookies and dishes, often using her treats in creating beautiful St. Joseph's Alters in her home every year. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend; she will remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Paul V. Evans; sister, Phyllis (Ralph) Timbush; children, Cynthia (late Larry) Richardson, Dominic Corirossi Jr., Frank Corirossi, Tammy (late Mark) Atterbury and Debra Evans; numerous grand & great grandchildren; several nephews; many dear friends; and beloved Doberman, Easy. She is predeceased by her parents; nephew, Christopher Timbush; granddaughter, Elizabeth Richardson; and several beloved Dobermans.

Memorial Mass held Monday September 2, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson Street, Rockford. Interment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday September 1, 2024 from 2-4 pm at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Avenue, Rockford. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the family.
