Dorothy Jane Blodgett-Sullivan

BELVIDERE – Dorothy Jane Blodgett-Sullivan, age 101, of Belvidere passed away peacefully Thursday October 19, 2023. Born in Belvidere on September 7, 1922 to Edward & Norma Keating (Hollister). Dorothy married Elmer Blodgett in March of 1942, they enjoyed going on long Sunday family rides. Dorothy & Elmer also enjoyed going out dancing and listening to local bands, as Elmer was also a musician who played in local groups. The couple had four sons; Russ, Rick, Tom and Tim. Elmer sadly passed away at the young age of 56. Some years later, Dorothy met and married Raymond Sullivan, a retired Implement dealer in Belvidere. The couple enjoyed traveling, family and friends until Raymond became ill and passed, he was a sweet man and liked by many. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend; she will remain forever in our hearts.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Russ (Patty), Rick (Diane) and Tim Blodgett; brother, William Keating; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy is predeceased by her parents; Edward & Norma Keating; husbands, Elmer Blodgett and Raymond Sullivan; son, Tom Blodgett; sisters, Ruth Stemwedel and Mary Curtis; brothers, Thomas, Hugh, Jess, Robert and Jack Keating.

Funeral Services held Friday November 3, 2023 at 12:00 noon at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave., Rockford, with visitation from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Cremation rites accorded. Interment at Highland Garden of Memories, Belvidere.
