Dorothy Irene Shepherd

ROCKFORD – Dorothy Irene Shepherd, age 74, of Rockford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Saturday May 20, 2023. Born in Rockford on September 2, 1948 to Adolph & Verna Keinz (Beattie). Beloved wife, mother, sister and dear friend; she will remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth Duane Shepherd; children, Christine Brockway, Louis Cabrera and Matthew Cabrera; step-daughter, Rebecca (Randy) Berger; siblings, Thomas (Mary) Keinz, Robert (late Trish) Keinz, Michael (Debbie) Keinz, Norm (Lori) Keinz and Rick (Beja) Keinz; and numerous nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; sisters, Kathy Bogda, Patricia Simms and Dorthea Keinz; and brothers, Paul Keinz and Jonathon Keinz.

Memorial Services held Wednesday May 31, 2023 at 6:00 pm at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave., Rockford, with visitation from 5:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
