Douglas Allen Matthews

ROCKFORD – Douglas Allen Matthews, age 71, of Rockford passed away Friday May 15, 2020. Born March 29, 1949 in Waukesha, WI to Allen D. & Jane Matthews (Evert). Doug worked for several years at Sundstrand and Textron and was a proud converted Catholic through the RCIA program at Holy Family Church. A life long Packer fan, he loved all sports and enjoyed watching & supporting his sons and now grandchildren in all their sporting endeavors.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Rita M. Matthews (Schutten); sons, Scott (Christina Kalk) Matthews and Timothy (Laura) Matthews; and grandchildren, Owen & Luna Matthews. He is predeceased by his parents.
