Edna Marie Smith

ROCKFORD – Edna Marie Smith, age 84, of Rockford passed away peacefully surrounded by family Sunday April 10, 2022. Born in Coker, AL on October 10, 1937 to Howard & Beulah Snyder (Maddox). An avid reader and cookbook collector, Edna loved Westerns and Classic movies. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend; she will remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her daughters, Lora (Ron Beltz) Bouda, Mary (Jason) McCoy, Christine (Joe) Szymaszek and Lisa Earhart; grandchildren, Brian (Krystinna) Clark, Katie Szymaszek, Patrick McCoy, Amanda Earhart, Joey Szymaszek, Matthew McCoy, Jarrad McCoy, Kara (Mason) Hellwig and Sarah Szymaszek; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Jerry (Rena) Snyder and Jim (Karen) Snyder; numerous nieces & nephews; and her beloved cat. She is predeceased by her parents; husband, George Smith; father of her daughters, Howard L. Hufstedler; brothers David (Margaret) Snyder & Billy Snyder; and sister, Sarah Larson.

Private Burial held at Willwood Burial Park. Celebration of Life Memorial to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of your choice. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
