Ella Mae Banks

ROCKFORD – Ella Mae Banks, age 59, of Rockford passed away peacefully Tuesday January 2, 2024 at home surrounded by family. Born in Tupelo, MS on September 14, 1964 to Susie Mae Harris (Banks) and Gean Arthur Barnes. Ella truly loved telling jokes and having a good laugh. A proud member of The Word Worship Center, she enjoyed singing, watching movies, card games and testing her luck at the slot machines. Her zest for life was as vibrant as her spirit. Beloved daughter, sister, aunt and dear friend; she will remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her mother, Susie Mae (late Bill) Harris; siblings, Yvonne Banks, Darlene (Robert) Titsworth, Larry Banks and Wanda (Pastor Wayne) Fricks; special nieces, Trinity Rucker and Mia Banks; a host of nieces & nephews; and dear friend, Adelbert Norwood. She is predeceased by her longtime companion, Arnold Wilson; sister, Felicia Banks; nephews, Lamarcus Banks and Dante Banks; numerous aunts & uncles; and her grandparents.

Funeral Services held Friday January 12, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Avenue, Rockford, with visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. Interment at Cedar Bluff Cemetery, Rockford. Memorials to the family.
