Eric Robert Boonos

ROCKFORD – Eric Robert Boonos, age 46, of Rockford and formerly of Chicago passed away peacefully Monday November 5, 2018. Born in Melrose Park, IL on September 2, 1972 to Robert & Cynthia Boonos (Husby). A proud veteran of the US Navy and IUOE Local 150; Eric worked for over 25 years as a heavy equipment operator. He loved the color neon green, had an extensive collection of skulls and was an avid fan of the Steelers, White Sox and Blackhawks. Beloved husband, father and dear friend; he will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle L. Boonos (De Benedetto); children, Xander & Triston Boonos, Rebecca, Justin & Josh McLester, Devin Saunders and Zoey De Benedetto; cousin, Cali (Woody Noble) Husby; dear friends, Paul (Jenni) Anderson and Tim Strommer; mother-in-law, Annette De Benedetto. He is predeceased by the mother of his children, Amy Boonos (McLester).
