Ernesto Mancha

ROCKFORD – Ernesto Mancha, age 73, of Rockford and formerly of California passed away suddenly Thursday, May 1, 2025. Born in Los Angeles, CA on September 28, 1951 to Ramon & Ophelia Mancha (Manriquez). A proud Marine and devoted family man, Ernesto was always supportive and thinking of others, truly generous in heart, mind and gift giving. Gregarious, positive and often a social butterfly, he never met a stranger and loved talking to new and random friends. He enjoyed family outings to fairs, festivals and carnivals, traveling the country and visiting San Francisco, his favorite city, and Catalina Island, his favorite sailing destination. He had a need for speed, and in his younger years enjoyed riding his Harley, then trading up to a sailboat, he cherished sailing the open water and feeling the wind upon his face. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Jennifer A. Jaskowiak; children, Steven Mancha, Rita Mancha, Ernest G. Mancha, Dennis Pavloff, Cody Mancha and Jo Mancha; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; mother, Ophelia (late Jesus) Montellano; siblings, Evelyn (Steven) Woolridge, Esperanza (late Martin) Rodriguez, Richard (late Frieda) Rivera, Raymond Rivera, Elizabeth (late Gary Smith) Montellano, Susan (Kenny Jones) Montellano & Jess (Dolores) Montellano; sister-in-law, Norma Ewert; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends and beloved pets. He is predeceased by his father, Ramon Lozano Mancha; son, William H. Mancha; and brother, Raymond Mancha.
