Ferna Mae Olmstead

ROCKFORD – Ferna Mae Olmstead, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 3, 2017. Born in Rockford on June 2, 1932 to Cranston Edward & Elsie Johnson (Anderson). Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend, she will remain in our hearts forever.

She is survived by children, Doug (Linda) Olmstead, Kathy (late Larry) Southern, Jim ( fiance Gale ) Olmstead; 22 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, brother; Roger (Kay) Johnson, and numerous nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Dale E. Olmstead; daughter, Karen Tanner; grand-daughters, Tasha L. Olmstead and Dathan Wainwright.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service to be held on Monday September 11, 2017 at 12:00 pm at the Salvation Army, 500 South Rockford Ave, Rockford, with visitation from 11:00 am until the time of service at noon. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the family. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
