Frank R. Strmic, age 77, of Harvard, IL, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 3:22pm. He was born on February 27, 1945 in Chicago, IL.
Frank met Connie Carlson in October of 1974 and married on 4/30/1983. They were the parents of three children. Frank also had three children with Rose Strmic.
At age 38, on 3/27/1983, Frank walked into Norwood Gospel Chapel of Chicago for his first time and while sitting there not really hearing what the preacher was saying, he looked up and saw a large verse on a plaque that read, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16) That day he received Jesus Christ into his life and the message he wanted to convey to everyone he met from there on was, "That Jesus Christ came, He died on a cross, He rose again, and He asked us to repent of our sins and receive Him by faith as Lord and Savior, and if we do, we have forgiveness of all our sins."
Frank worked his way up to Senior Parts Representative at W.W. Grainer and finished his career as Senior Inventory Specialist at Haiges Machinery. During his life he enjoyed oil painting, ping-pong, shooting pool, and weight lifting. But more importantly, Frank loved God and sought to preach the Gospel of Jesus wherever he went. He was an evangelist at heart and led home Bible Studies for over 30 years.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, John and Essie Strmic. He is survived by his wife, Connie Strmic, brothers John Strmic, Ivo Strmic, sisters Jean Nicholson, Mildred Strmic, his sons Frank Strmic Jr., Russell Strmic, Ian Carlson, his daughters Laurie Jackson, Natalie Strmic (Udstuen), Hannah Strmic, 10 grandchildren, Melissa Strmic, Zachary Strmic, Olivia Strmic, Amelia Strmic, Andrew Strmic, Nathan Strmic, Chloe Carlson, Camrin Carlson, Karaley Aves, Allison Udstuen, and 4 great grandchildren, Malia Strmic, Jayden Strmic, Robert Strmic, Levi Carlson.
