Gary Howard Lieber

ROCKFORD – Gary Howard Lieber, age 78, of Rockford passed away peacefully Friday November 18, 2022. Born in Freeport, IL on September 16, 1944 to Howard & Carol Lieber. Gary worked for many years in quality control for Amerock. He had a huge love of animals and always dreamed of being a zookeeper. He fought many hardships & struggles his whole life and is finally at peace. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by children, Thomas (Adrianne) Lieber of Lake in the Hills, IL and Tracy (Pat) Murray of Winnebago, IL; grandsons, LCpl John Victor Murray and Charley Murray; sister, Penny Burleson of Rockford, IL; sister-in-law, Priscilla Mullican of Lebanon, MO and Linda Bolander of Woodruff, WI; numerous nieces & nephews; and special niece, Teresa Redd of Lebanon, MO. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, Pamela Kay Lieber (Mathews); brothers-in-law, Derald Halley and Ed Halley; and his parents.

Services are Private. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
