Gladys Unice Mays

ROCKFORD – Gladys Unice Mays, age 98, of Rockford passed away peacefully Monday March 22, 2021. Born in Milwaukee, WI on May 24, 1922 to Paul & Elsie Lask (Levernez). She married the love of her life, Roland Franklin Mays on February 18, 1939. Gladys worked at National Lock for 10 years as a machine operator. She truly enjoyed time spent fishing with her family and fished until the age of 94. Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dear friend; she will remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Donna Mays and Susie Hanson; grandchildren, David Mays, Racquel Topping, Brent (Jeff Needham) Adams, Brandon (Abigail) Hanson; great grandchildren, Amanda Merchant, Tiffany Topping and Roland Hanson; numerous great great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews; and brother-in-law, Dennis Seehafer. She is predeceased by her husband, Roland Franklin Mays; sisters, Carol Seehafer, Shirley Adams and Lorraine Nygren; brothers, Paul, Melvin & Emmett Lask; grandchildren, Todd Adams, Holly Topping and Josie Chapman.

Private family services held. Interment at Willwood Burial Park. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials to the family.
