Ignacio Briones Castillo

ROCKFORD – Ignacio "Nacho" Briones Castillo, age 74, of Rockford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Thursday May 18, 2023. Born in Fremont, MI on September 2, 1948 to Ignacio E. & Guadalupe Castillo (Briones). An avid sports fan, Nacho stayed active playing on league teams & practicing everything from billiards & darts to softball & bowling and loved finding time for a round of golf or two. He also very much enjoyed tuning in to WWE professional wresting on the TV. Beloved husband, father, brother and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Maria C. Castillo (Cantu); children, John A. Castillo and Ignacio A. Castillo; grandchildren, Ignacio Jr., Nicholas, Summer, Samantha & Connor; 6 brothers; 2 sisters; special in-laws, Patsy (Kent) Herbig; numerous nieces & nephews; and beloved dog, Socks. He is predeceased by his parents.

Memorial Services held Saturday June 3, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave., Rockford, with visitation from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the Family.
