Ivan Michael Gill

CHICAGO – Ivan Michael Gill, age 68, of Chicago passed away peacefully at home Thursday November 7, 2024. Born in Chicago on September 12, 1956 to John Henry & Pauline Gill (Cook). A proud Veteran of the US Navy and devoted Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan, Ivan loved listening, collecting and playing music. He loved the sounds of Prince and treasured an extensive vinyl album collection. The best grandpa, Ivan's true pride and joy and number one was his grandchildren, he loved spoiling them any chance he could get. Beloved father, grandfather, brother and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by daughters, Renea Smith and Natalie Smith; grandchildren, Darryl, Calyssa, Deonte, Elaine and Cayla; great grandchildren, Darryl III and Zuri; sister, Audrey (Louis) Shannon; several nieces & nephews; as well as many cherished extended family & friends; and beloved Chandlers Family & Low-End Family. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Hazel E. Smith; sons, Keith A. Smith and Darryl A. Smith; and sister, Wanda (Elbert) Perkins; and his parents.

Celebration of Life Memorial to be announced. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Family.
