Ivy Jo Zahrndt

ROCKFORD/BOONE COUNTY - Ivy Jo Zahrndt, age 25, of Belvidere Township passed away Thursday August 29, 2019.  Born in Dekalb, IL on September 24, 1993 to James Edward & Eve Frances Zahrndt (Pogwizd). An artist at heart, Ivy enjoyed all things creative; especially calligraphy, writing and all types of artistry. Fluent in 4 languages, she served as the editor of her college publication and was inducted into the National Honors Society for College Students. She had a caring heart and a true love for animals. Often rescuing animals that became her beloved pets, even being awarded Boone County 4H Grand Champion for a cat she rescued & rehabilitated. Beloved mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and dear friend; she will remain in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her daughter, Estelle; parents, James & Eve Zahrndt; sibling, Reese "Seye" (Adrian De La Cerda) Hann; grandfather, Kenneth (Sasha) Pogwizd; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many beloved pets. She is predeceased by her sister; Alena Mary Zahrndt; grandparents, Raymond & Maryann Zahrndt and Frances Pogwizd.

Funeral Services held Tuesday September 10, 2019 at 12:30 PM at Grace Family Church, 3202 Pleasant Valley Blvd, Rockford, with visitation from 10:30 AM until the time of service at 12:30 PM. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials to the family.
