James William Christiansen

ROCKFORD – James William Christiansen, age 80, of Rockford passed away Sunday January 17, 2021. Born in Rockford on February 26, 1940 to Ned & Ruth Christiansen (Almond). A devoted ordained Christian, Jim served as a dedicated member of Family Bible Fellowship Church and loved teaching bible studies at River Bluff Nursing Home. A proud member of IUPAT Local 607, he retired after many years as a Union Painter. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Barbara M. Christiansen (Bunting); children, Timothy Christiansen, Paula (Jason Rogers) Dodson, Tonya (Bob) Eastlick, Brody (Karen) Christiansen, Jane (Steve) Bird, Candice (Kenneth) Bryant and Tammy (Pat) Sullivan; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; brother Jerry (Sheri) Christiansen; sister-in-law, Sue Christiansen; many nieces & nephews; and beloved dog, Mandy. He is predeceased by his sons; Mark Christiansen, Charles Cron and Gary Christiansen; brother, Joseph Christiansen; grandchildren, Rebekah Cron, Michael Centowski and Skyler Dodson; and his parents.

Services are Private. Cremation rites accorded. Interment at Willwood Cemetery. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
