James Robert Thomson

ROCKFORD – James "Jim" Robert Thomson, age 53, of Rockford passed away in his home on Tuesday May 14, 2019 with his wife at his side. Born in Rockford on January 19, 1966 the son of Bob & Ruth (Maas) Thomson. Jim married Kathleen Cruz, in Rockford on January 23, 1998. Jim's heart was on the farm with his Uncle Clayton & Aunt Dort, but he worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years in the Rockford area. Jim was a kind, caring, loving and hardworking man that would help anyone. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend; he will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by wife, Kathleen Thomson; stepdaughter, Kristen (Rene) Rodriguez; sisters, Kathryn Thomson & Mary (Mark) Norman; brother, Tim Thomson; sisters-in-law, Mary Cruz and Grace (Don) Bailey; grandchildren, Jarvis, Jasmin, Anthony, Vinny and Gigi; numerous nieces & nephews; cousins; and dear friends. Predeceased by grandmother, Emma Thomson; parents, Bob & Ruth Thomson; sister-in-law, Rita Elizondo; stepson, Pete Chemello; and several aunts &uncles.

Celebration of Life Memorial held Tuesday May 21, 2019 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave., Rockford.  Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the family.
