Jason D. Hayes

PECATONICA – Jason Darol Hayes, 45, of Pecatonica, IL and recently of Madison, WI, passed away peacefully Tuesday July 23, 2019. Born on January 30, 1974 at Rockford Memorial Hospital to Harold L. & Bonnie Kay (Wells) Hayes. Jason attended Pecatonica schools and graduated from the Rock Valley GED Program with honors. Jason worked in the retail and production industries and had volunteered for 13 years with the Pecatonica Fire and Ambulance crew.  An avid reader and biker, he loved lakes, camping, storms and weather-watching, and the great outdoors.  He enjoyed Duke basketball, NASCAR, music, pizza, animals and spending time with family and friends.  Jason was beloved by his entire family and dear friends and will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his parents, sisters, Jodi (late Richard) Norman, Jeriann Hayes, Juli (Brian) Colloton and Jani (Everett) Kitts; nephews and niece, John Blake, Thomas Colloton and Jessica Colloton; aunt and uncle, Ernest (Sandra) Hayes Jr.; and cousins, David and Ryan (Amanda) Hayes, and Jim (Peggy) Belles. He is predeceased by his brother-in-law, Richard L. Norman; grandparents, Ernest and Ruth Hayes Sr. and Clyde and Delta Wells, aunt and uncle Ira and Ruth Belles, and cousin Nancy (Belles) Aust.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Memorial on Saturday August 3, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Sumner Park Pavilion on the Pecatonica Fairgrounds, 500 W. 1 ^st Street, Pecatonica IL., with visitation to follow until 12:00 noon.  Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Pecatonica Fire District or the family.
