Jerry D. Walker

STILLMAN VALLEY - Jerry Dean Walker, age 68, of Stillman Valley passed away peacefully Friday July 27, 2018. Born in Jonesboro, AR on September 23, 1949 to William & Kathleen Walker (Furnish). A proud Veteran of the US Army, he served in Vietnam. He married Linda Bokath April 6, 1974 and worked at Sundstrand for over 40 years until his retirement in 2011. He enjoyed working in his yard, woodworking in his new building, and fishing in Canada; and even had the chance to go this year. Jerry loved his family & friends, he was always ready to lend a hand, give advice or just spend time with them. Loving husband, father, brother, uncle and dear friend, he will be greatly missed and will remain in our hearts forever.


He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Jessica; grandchildren, Braden & Laney Archibald; sister, Debra (Steve George) Rusk; brother, Terry; nieces & nephews, David (Maria) Rusk, Dwayne (Andi) Rusk, Dean (Wendy) Rusk, Shelley (Mike) Cordonnier, Kyle (Honesty) Walker, Erin (Ryan Scudder) Helmer; great nieces & nephews, Stephan Bokath, Phillip Bokath, Erica Gibbs, Devyin Bokath, Damion Wise, Danielle Wallschlaeger, Justin Marion, Ella & Nolan Rusk, Evan Helmer, Avery Walker, William & Rylan Peacock. He is predeceased by his parents, William & Kathleen Walker.


Funeral services held Monday July 30, 2018 at 6:30 pm at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave., Rockford, with visitation from 5:00 pm until the time of service at 6:30 pm. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.


A Celebration of Life Memorial to be held in September – date and time to be announced.
