Jesus Zayas Perez

ROCKFORD – Jesus Zayas Perez, age 77, of Rockford and formerly of Chicago passed away peacefully Wednesday August 21, 2019 at home surrounded by family. Born in Puerto Rico on June 9, 1942 to Salvador Rivera Zayas & Aida Perez. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend; he will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Selenia Torres Martinez; children, Yvonne Roman, Jesus Zayas Jr., Leticia Zayas and Marcus A. Zayas; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 3 brothers and 1 sister; as well as numerous nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his daughter, Selenia Zayas; 3 brothers; and his parents.

Funeral Services held Monday August 26, 2019 at 12:00 noon at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3 ^rd Ave., with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of services at 12:00 noon. Interment at Scandinavian Cemetery, Rockford. Memorials to the family.
