John Steven Carlson

ROCKFORD – John Steven Carlson, age 47, of Rockford passed away peacefully Sunday August 28, 2022. Born in Charlotte, MI on June 17, 1975 to Steven James & Gloria Jean Carlson (Hill). A proud graduate of Rock Valley College, John graduated with honors with his MBA from Rockford University in 2017. He worked for many years as IT Manager at Swedish American Hospital. A proud member of CCMP Football Club, he loved building his own computer systems, gaming and connecting online with his many World of Warcraft guild & friends. Beloved husband, son, brother uncle and dear friend, he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Shanda Carlson (Heady); father, Steven James Carlson; siblings, Jeff Carlson, Jerry (Amanda) Carlson and Jodi (Brian) Schwartz; nieces & nephews, Steven (Lisa), Trinity, Danielle, Brandon, Preston and Lydia; mother-in-law, Marilyn (Dan) Watson; sister-in-law, Rachael; numerous aunts & uncles; dear friends, Melissa Galler, George Mitchell Jr. and Brian Thomas; and beloved kitties, Big Mamma & Small Fry. He is predeceased by mother, Gloria Jean Carlson; and his grandparents.

A Celebration of Life Memorial held Sunday September, 4 2022 at 2:00 PM at N1410 Brunkow Road, Juda, WI 53550. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
