John Brandon Jr.

ROCKFORD – John Brandon Jr., age 66, of Rockford passed away peacefully Wednesday April 24, 2024. Born and raised in Ayrshire, Scotland on May 1, 1957 to John & Louise Brandon Sr. (King). A lifelong naturally gifted musician, John played numerous instruments, oftentimes learning and playing by ear. He truly loved spending time making music and jamming with his band Sensations. In his younger days John worked in the family bakery, Piper Bakery in Rockford, where he became a talented baker. Beloved father, grandfather, brother and dear friend, he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by daughters, Amanda Handley, Melissa (Holli Tank) Robertson and Jennifer (Dale) Rowland; grandchildren, Arianna & Kennedy, Gabby, Evan & Owen, Colton, Tyler (Brea) & Kyle (Kahleigh) and Baylee, Jaxen & Liam; 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Steve (Sherry) Brandon, Marie Brandon and Anna Louise Maxwell; as well as numerous nieces & nephews; and many dear friends. He is predeceased by his brother, Russell Brandon; parents; and beloved cat, Pharoh.

Celebration of Life Memorial held Friday May 3, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave, Rockford, with visitation from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 2:oo pm. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the family.
