John Edward Norman

ROCKFORD – John Edward Norman, age 71, of Rockford passed away on Friday May 25, 2018. Born in Rockford on September 19, 1946 to Ellwood Everett & Helen Dorothy Norman (Feltz). John served two tours in the United States Marine Corp during Vietnam. He retired after many years working in the garden center for Kmart. He was an excellent cook and baker. Beloved brother, uncle and dear friend; he will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by brothers, Roger (Connie), David (late Linda), Michael (Linda), Dennis (Nancy) and Brian (Barb) all of Rockford; sister, Irma (Dale) Duhamell of Pocatello, ID; dear friends, Don (Connie) Harker and Jack (Judy) Sowl; numerous nieces & nephews; and many dear friends at Valley View & Blackhawk Athletics Club. He is predeceased by his parents, brothers, Everett Norman and Richard Norman; and sisters, Dianna Norman and Irene Toth.

A Celebration of Life Memorial held on Sunday July 8, 2018 at 4:00 pm at the Broadway Covenant Church, 3525 Broadway Rockford, IL. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials to the family.
