John Edward York

ROCKFORD – John Edward York, age 71, of Rockford and formerly of Glidden, WI passed away peacefully Tuesday September 26, 2023. Born in Fond Du Lac, WI on January 13, 1952 to Edward John & Adeline York (Dillinger). John drove truck for 22 years at Landstar System, Inc. of Rockford, achieving the Million Mile Driver Status. An avid outdoorsman in his younger years, John enjoyed fishing, hunting and practicing his shooting skills. He loved spending time rebuilding & restoring his classic car and watching Westerns, Star Trek and WWE professional wrestling. Beloved father, grand & great grandfather and dear friend, he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his children, Christopher (Andrea) York and Regina York; grandchildren; Carrisa, Heidi, Victoria, Caleb, Bethany, Ethan, Emily, Evan and Ella; great grandchildren, Elise, Kayden, Jaiden, Asher, Michael and Maddox; several siblings; numerous nieces & nephews; and many dear friends. He is predeceased by his parents.

Celebration of Life Memorial held Saturday November 4, 2023 from 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave., Rockford. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the Family.
