Johnny W. Hinsley Sr.

ROCKFORD – Johnny Wayne Hinsley Sr., age 76, of Rockford passed away peacefully Saturday August 5, 2023. Born in Dallas, TX on May 30, 1947 to John & Jane Hinsley (Morris). A proud member of Pebble Creek Pentecostal Church in Loves Park, Johnny was a devoted Christian and true believer in Jesus. He sincerely loved teaching, preaching and witnessing for the Lord. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and dear friend, he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his loving wife, Careleen M. Griffen Hinsley (Leadbetter); son, Johnny W. Hinsley Jr.; stepdaughters, Sherri Medrano and Tammy Brown; several grandchildren; and many dear friends. He is predeceased by his former wife, Carlaine M. Hinsley (Edwards); and his parents.

Funeral Services held Saturday August 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave., Rockford, with visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Interment at Scandinavian Cemetery. Memorials to the Family.
