ROCKFORD – Jose Esteban Perez, age 63, of Rockford passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, surrounded by his close family. Jose was born on December 12, 1954 to Juan Perez & Guadalupe Perez. His greatest joy was being with his grandchildren. He also loved his music, working on his garage, house & lawn. After many years of hard work and determination, he accomplished his life-long dream of building his own home from the ground up in Michoacán, Mexico. Jose was a beloved husband, proud-dedicated father/father-in-law, loving grandfather and a dear friend to many. His warm smiles, adventurous stories & life-lessons will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Maria Lourdes Alejos; children, Francisco (Annette) Alejos, Jaime Perez, Roberto Perez and Brandon Perez; grandchildren, Ariana, Francisco Jr., Ari, Isaac and Abigail; great grandchildren, Jonathan & Ivan; 6 siblings as well as many dear and lifelong friends. He is predeceased by his son, Juan Perez.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Church, 2505 School St., Rockford , with visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday March 23, 2018 from 4-8 PM at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3 rd Avenue, Rockford. Memorials to the family.
